Black tie charity ball in aid of Brain Tumour Research.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity and support from so many of you, we have raised just over £13,000 for Brain Tumour Research!
To everyone who attended the ball (and made the raffle and auction so much fun!), those who donated and all who kindly provided the wonderful prizes — we truly couldn’t have done this without you. Special thanks also to Roma, Gemma, Neil and Heather for taking on the Windermere Lap and to our generous friends and family for adding to the total!
All together, this amazing sum will help fund almost five days of vital research — bringing us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
For a full list of our generous prize donors and supporters, please do look at our sponsor and contributor pages on this website.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this important cause
Why the Mad Hatter’s?
The Brain Tumour Research Charity has become synonymous with hats and hatting. A bespoke pink silk top hat has been their emblem and is an instantly recognisable part of Wear A Hat Day every year. Wearing a hat reminds us of those who have been personally affected by this devastating disease and helps spread awareness of our cause. Here in Lincoln are we a little bit mad? perhaps we are, so we present our Mad Hatter’s Ball.

The greatest party band Lincolnshire has ever seen...
Over ten years in the making, countless shows, trial and error, painstaking practice, and lots of sheer hard work to bring you the show we have today. All live music, exciting lighting shows, no backing tracks, performance consistency, total professionalism. Are we the greatest party band Lincolnshire has ever seen? It seems a lot of you think so!

Neil’s story
Neil’s mantra was very much ‘work hard play hard’ – something which he carried with him throughout his adult life. His tenacity saw him rise through the ranks in both of his chosen careers but never at the expense of his family or friends. He liked nothing better than a get together in the local pub on a Friday night for a laugh and a few drinks. This is Neil's story. .

Brain Tumour Research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
